The short answer: Housecall Pro costs from $59 per month for one user billed annually, and its three plan ladder is the simpler of the two big field service platforms to read. Basic is unusually complete for a solo operator, Essentials at $149 per month billed annually is the natural home for a five person team, and MAX only earns its price when you need Recurring Service Plans or route optimisation.
Housecall Pro looks simpler than most of its rivals at first glance: three plans, a fixed number of users in each, and two ways to pay. The complication hides in the steps between the plans. The jump from one user to five is where the price more than doubles, extra users work differently on each tier, and the per user cost at the top end is quoted inconsistently around the web. This guide lays out every plan and price, flags the one figure we could not pin down cleanly, and shows what real team sizes pay.
This is a pricing explainer, not a hands-on review. Every price below was verified on 30 October 2026 on Housecall Pro’s official pricing page, and we quote list prices throughout. A promotional offer was running on the page on the verification date, shown as book a demo today and save $690 with reduced first months on each plan, so treat any discount you see as temporary. Prices are in US dollars, before sales tax. No long term contract is required, and the official FAQ describes cancelling as simple and hassle free.
How Housecall Pro pricing works
Housecall Pro sells three plans: Basic, Essentials and MAX. Instead of team size bands on every plan, each plan simply includes a fixed number of users: 1 on Basic, 5 on Essentials and 8 on MAX. You pay either monthly or annually, and the annual rate is shown as a lower price per month. That structure is easy to understand, but it means your second hire forces a plan change, because Basic offers no way to add a single extra user.

List prices in US dollars, verified 30 October 2026.
| Plan | Users included | Billed monthly | Billed annually, per month | Annual total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | 1 | $79 | $59 | $708 |
| Essentials | 5 | $189 | $149 | $1,788 |
| MAX | 8 | $329 | $299 | $3,588 |
Extra users: the figure to check twice
On Basic there is no extra user option at all, so a second user means moving up to Essentials. On MAX, the plan card on the official pricing page states that additional users cost $35 per month each, and that is the figure we verified on 30 October 2026. One honest warning: several independent pricing trackers who read the same page in September and October 2026 reported $75 per month per extra MAX user instead. The official page said $35 on the day we checked, but the two numbers cannot both be right, so confirm the extra user rate in the signup flow before you budget around either figure.
For Essentials, the official plan card in our check did not print an extra user price. Independent trackers who used the team size selector on the same official page in September and October 2026 reported extra users at $100 per month each. Treat that as secondary reporting rather than an official price, the same caution as the MAX figure above.
What changes between the tiers
Basic covers the running of a solo operation. It includes online booking, scheduling and dispatch, estimates and invoicing, payment collection, a price book, job costing and review management. If you work alone and want bookings, quotes and payments in one place, Basic is a complete starter system rather than a stripped demo.
Essentials adds the team layer. Moving up unlocks Routes, flat rate pricing, checklist automations, photo reports and annotations, employee GPS tracking, sales commissions, and QuickBooks Online sync. The checklist automations and photo reports are the features cleaning and maintenance crews tend to feel first, because they turn job quality checks into part of the schedule instead of a separate habit.
MAX adds the scale layer. The top tier includes the sales proposal tool, which Housecall Pro itself values at $40 per month, Recurring Service Plans for contract based work, route optimisation, open API access, a dedicated onboarding specialist and escalated phone support. Every plan, including Basic, comes with live phone and chat support, the free iOS and Android app in English and Spanish, and offline viewing for work in areas with poor signal.
Card fees and add-on costs
Card processing on Housecall Pro starts at 2.59 percent, which undercuts the rate most rivals print on their pricing pages. Bank payments carry a 1 percent fee, and mobile check deposits are free. One caution from independent trackers reading Housecall Pro material in October 2026: the card rate rises by capture method, up to 3.49 percent for a card kept on file, so the 2.59 percent starting rate is a floor rather than a promise. Treat that higher figure as secondary reporting and check the rate that applies to your payment mix during signup.
The official FAQ confirms that add ons and extra users are optional extras, but the pricing page does not print a full add-on price list. An independent review that read the official page in August 2026 listed the sales proposal tool at $40 per month on the lower plans, vehicle GPS tracking at $20 per vehicle per month and a Price Book add on at $149 per month. Those figures are secondary reporting, useful for budgeting, but confirm them before you count on them.
What it really costs: worked examples
A solo cleaner on Basic. One user on the annual rate pays $59 per month, which is $708 per year. Say she collects $4,000 a month, all by card, at the starting rate of 2.59 percent. The percentage fee on $4,000 is about $104, so her real running cost is roughly $163 a month, with the understanding that the rate can rise depending on how cards are taken. The draw of Basic is that nothing in her daily workflow is missing at this size: booking, scheduling, invoicing and review requests are all included.
A five person team on Essentials. Five users on the annual rate pay $149 per month, which is $1,788 per year, and this is the tier that adds Routes, GPS tracking and checklist automations for the crew. Say the team collects $15,000 a month by card at the starting rate. The fee at 2.59 percent is about $389, taking the real running cost to roughly $538 a month. If much of that revenue arrives through cards kept on file, the trackers’ higher rate would push the fee up, so this example is a best case rather than a ceiling.
A ten person company on MAX. MAX includes 8 users at $299 per month billed annually. Adding two more users at the verified $35 rate gives $369 per month. If the $75 figure reported by some trackers turns out to be the live rate at signup, the same company would pay $449 per month instead, which is exactly why that one number is worth confirming before anything else.
The free trial
Housecall Pro offers a 14 day free trial with full access to all features on the MAX plan, with no credit card needed to start and a reminder before the trial ends. Testing at MAX level is genuinely useful here, because you can try the proposal tool and Recurring Service Plans before deciding whether the top tier earns its price.
Verdict
Housecall Pro pricing is the simpler ladder of the two big field service platforms: three plans, fixed users, no bands to decode. Basic is unusually complete for a solo operator, and Essentials at $149 per month billed annually matches the price a five person team pays on the closest rival tier. The two things to verify before you commit are the extra user rate on MAX, where official and secondary sources disagree, and the card rate that will apply to how your clients actually pay. One more check is worth making in the signup flow: independent reviewers have noted that the pricing page quiz can show different seat based prices for some trades, so confirm the numbers for your own trade before you pay. Our Jobber pricing explained guide shows the alternative ladder side by side.
