This policy explains what information SoftForTrades (softfortrades.com) collects when you visit the site, how that information is used, and the choices you have. SoftForTrades is a content website that publishes software comparisons and guides. We keep data collection as small as the site allows.
Analytics data. We use privacy focused website analytics to understand which pages readers visit, roughly how long they stay, and what type of device and browser they use. This data is aggregated and is used to decide which guides to improve. It is not used to identify individual readers.
Server and security logs. Our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information when a page is requested, such as an IP address, browser type and the time of the request. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention and keeping the site online.
Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use that information only to read and reply to your message.
We do not run user accounts on this site, we do not sell products directly, and we never ask for payment details.
Cookies are small files stored on your device by your browser. This site and the services connected to it may use cookies for the following purposes:
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site remains readable with cookies blocked, although affiliate clicks may not be credited to us.
Some links on this site are affiliate links. Clicking one takes you to a third party vendor website, and anything you do there is covered by that vendor privacy policy and terms. We do not receive your payment details, your account contents or any information you enter on a vendor site. We may receive a report that a sign-up happened so a commission can be paid. We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing.

Analytics data is kept in aggregated form. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes and then deleted or anonymised. Emails are kept while they are needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to certain uses. Because this site collects very little personal information, most requests will relate to email correspondence. To make a request, write to us at hello@softfortrades.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
This site is written for business owners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Our guides link to vendor websites and other external resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Significant changes, such as adding advertising, will be reflected here before they take effect.
